Title: AO Spine Knowledge Forum Tumor – Matching the Surgical Strategy to the Patient
KF Tumor has generated new knowledge focusing on the assessment and management strategies for patients with primary and metastatic spinal tumors. We would like to present the classic and evolving concepts in spine tumor patient assessment and apply them to real-world scenarios using a case-based approach. An AO Spine member survey revealed that many clinicians have questions about the optimal timing of surgery in relation to adjuvant therapy and prevention of neurologic deficits, tailoring the surgical invasiveness to the specific patient comorbidity profile, dosing and duration of glucocorticoid administration. The case discussion will address these challenging questions.
Moderators: Álvaro Silva González, Ilya Laufer
Invited Speakers: Daniel Lubelski, Brian Coimbra, Michael Galgano, Ori Barzilai, Raphaéle Charest-Morin, Sheng-Fu Larry Lo, Aron Lazáry/Riccardo Cecchinato, Cordula Netzer/ Joost Rutges
