七月流火，德国慕尼黑大学附属医院有位临床医学MD博士给我的微信留言：“我能做的就是学习其规范化，然后将它带回祖国，因为学习的最终目的是为了回馈人民，假以时日，中国的医生也可以做得更好。”这位青年医生的留言让我心灵震撼。当今中国医院有480万医生，有几个医生可以说出我们做医生的目的就是要回馈人民？过去几千年来，中国始终是个封建社会。1949年10月1日我们在北京建立了中华人民共和国。这是一个由人民建立起来的新中国。1927年8月1日凌晨4:00一群鲜衣怒马的少年在南昌八一广场打响了武装起义的第一枪。14年抗战3500万军民献出了自己宝贵的生命。从1921年建党到1949年新中国成立，28年的艰苦卓绝的奋斗，我们牺牲了370万党员。淮海战役支前民工总数高达543万人，他们用小推车、担架等原始工具，为前线奋战的中国人民解放军运送了海量粮食弹药，被陈毅称为“人民群众用小车推出来的胜利”。天津战役是平津战役中最激荡人心的一战，中国人民解放军牺牲了4106位英雄仅用了29个小时就成功解放天津。1950年的朝鲜战争，290万中国人民志愿军雄赳赳，气昂昂，跨过鸭绿江。197653名志愿军英雄永远长眠于异国他乡。所以我们的新中国是人民创立的历史，是人民建立的国家。医疗是人民的刚需，医疗行业是国家战略，毕竟全国人民到医院看病就两个诉求：好看病，看好病。医生是多么高尚的职业，理应得到人民的理解和尊重。因为医生才是一个国家的良知，医生的这份职业就应该回馈人民。因为如果医疗出了大问题，国家的后勤就没保障了，一个国家绝对是要靠人民来保障的。对人民好，就是对国家好。工作的意义是什么？一份工作真正的意义与金钱和权力其实没有什么关系，工作的意义是我们可以为这个世界带来特别价值。因为有我们，人生很值得。
In July, when the summer heat begins to wane, a young MD student from LMU hospital sent me a message on WeChat: “What I can do is to learn their standardized approaches and bring them back to my homeland. The ultimate purpose of learning is to give back to the people. Given time, Chinese doctors will also be able to provide better medical care.” The words from this young doctor deeply moved me. Today, China has approximately 4.8 million doctors. How many of them can truly say that the purpose of being a doctor is to give back to the people? For thousands of years, China had been a feudal society. On October 1, 1949, the People’s Republic of China was founded in Beijing. It was a new China established by the people. At 4:00 a.m. on August 1, 1927, a group of young revolutionaries launched the first shot of armed resistance at Bayi Square, Nanchang, marking the beginning of the Nanchang Uprising. During the fourteen years of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, 35 million Chinese civilians and soldiers sacrificed their precious lives. From the founding of the Communist Party of China in 1921 to the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, 28 years of arduous struggle and sacrifice claimed the lives of 3.7 million Party members. During the Huaihai Campaign, more than 5.43 million civilians participated in logistical support. Using simple tools such as carts and stretchers, they transported enormous amounts of food, ammunition, and supplies to the front lines, providing vital support for the People’s Liberation Army. Mr. Chen Yi, one of the PLA commanders, described this victory as one “pushed forward by the people with their small carts.”
The Battle of Tianjin was one of the most intense battles of the Pingjin Campain. The People’s Liberation Army lost 4,106 heroic soldiers but successfully liberated Tianjin within only 29 hours. In the Korean War in 1950, 2.9 million Chinese People’s Volunteer Army crossed the Yalu River with determination and courage. A total of 197,653 Chinese volunteer soldiers gave their lives and now rest forever in a foreign land. Therefore, the history of the People’s Republic of China is the history of its establishment through the efforts and sacrifices of its people. Healthcare is a fundamental need of the people, and the medical sector is a matter of national importance. After all, when people go to hospitals, their expectations are simple: they want medical care that is accessible, and they want their illnesses to be properly treated. Being a doctor is an exceptionally noble profession. Doctors deserve understanding and respect from society because they carry the conscience of a nation. The medical profession should ultimately serve the people and give back to society. If there are serious problems in healthcare, the foundation and resilience of a country will also be affected, because a nation’s strength ultimately depends on the well-being of its people. Caring for the people means caring for the country. What is the meaning of work? The true meaning of a job has little to do with money or power. The meaning of work lies in the value we bring to this world through our own efforts. Because of our existence, life becomes meaningful.
