2009年有个22岁的武汉小伙子到东莞打工，他在东莞的一家医院做了足踝手术。手术失败了，他直接把医院告了，医院赔了他一笔钱。他拿着这笔钱又到广州的一家医院去做手术，手术又失败了。这10年他完全走不了路。他32岁这年，2019年德国足踝专家Walther教授来佛山市中医院做国际客座教授工作一周，小伙子得到了这个消息之后，他立马来找到了我们，当天的门诊，我让公关部的同事专门去给他加了号。他非要把我的微信也加了。门诊之后他决定在佛山市中医院做手术，当天是当时的足踝外科主任朱永展和副主任沈国栋亲自给他安排的住院，最后德国专家Walther教授亲自给出诊疗方案并由朱主任为他主刀。Walther教授是德国足踝外科学会前主席。小伙子手术的当天上午，他激动得要命，他不断地给我微信留言：这真是德国专家给的诊疗方案吗？你们不会骗我吧？最后手术非常成功，他可以走路了。他手术住院所有的费用只在佛山市中医院花了4万元人民币。朱主任和沈主任对我说：“这个病人把我当做一个天上下凡的菩萨了。”其实我们仅仅只做了这么一点点的善举，我们就改变了他整个的命运和未来。32岁这一年，他可以站起来了。我们让医院请国际客座教授来中国三甲医院的目的就是只为中国三甲医院专注三件事：医院管理、学科建设和人才培养。通过这个平台我们可以和万千人进行分享。我们不为钱也不为名，我们只为中国医疗变得更好。医疗最重要的是公平，不论是富人也好，穷人也罢，到了医院都应该被同等对待。医学的本质其实是善良、关怀和帮助。

In 2009, a 22-year-old young man from Wuhan went to Dongguan for work. There, he underwent a foot and ankle operation at a local hospital. The surgery failed, and he sued the hospital, receiving compensation. With that money, he went to another hospital in Guangzhou for a revision surgery, but it failed again. For the next ten years, he was completely unable to walk. In 2019, when he was 32 years old, a German foot and ankle expert, Prof. Walther, came to Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an international visiting professor for one week. After hearing the news, the young man contacted us immediately. On the day of his outpatient visit, I asked a colleague of our PR team to arrange an additional appointment slot for him. He insisted on adding me on Wechat as well. After the consultation, he decided to undergo another surgery at Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. That same day, Prof. ZHU Yongzhan, the then Director of the Foot and Ankle Surgery Department, together with Dr. SHEN Guodong, the Associate Director, personally arranged his hospitalization. Finally, Prof. Walther, former President of the German Foot and Ankle Society, provided the treatment plan, and Prof. Zhu performed the surgery. On the morning of the operation, the young man was extremely excited. He kept sending me messages on Wechat, asking repeatedly: “ Is this really a treatment plan from a German expert? You are not deceiving me, are you?” In the end, the surgery was a great success. He was able to walk again. All the medical expenses during his hospitalization amounted to only 40,000 RMB. Prof. Zhu and Dr. Shen later said to me, “This patient saw you as saviors sent from heaven.” But in truth, we only did a small act of kindness, yet it changed the course of his entire life and future. At the age of 32, he was finally able to stand again. The purpose of inviting international visiting professors to Grade Three Class A hospital in China is simple: to help these hospital focus on three key areas - hospital management, specialty construction, and talent cultivation. Through this platform, we aim to share knowledge with countless people. We are not driven by money or fame, but by the hope of improving healthcare in China. The core value of healthcare is about fairness. Whether rich or poor, everyone deserves equal treatment in the hospital. Ultimately, the essence of medicine lies in kindness, compassion and helping others.
